Rewrite a sentence so the meaning stays the same, using a given key word that you cannot change in any way, in between two and five words including that key word. It tests grammar and fixed phrases at once, which is why it is the part most candidates name as the hardest.
The thing that makes it survivable: each question is worth two marks, split across two halves of the answer. Get the structure right but the tense wrong and you still take a mark. So an incomplete attempt beats a blank, and a half-remembered structure is worth writing down. Count your words before you move on — an answer over the limit scores zero however good it is.
Between two and five, and the key word counts towards the total. Contractions count as two words, so write full forms and count carefully — going over the limit loses the whole question, not half of it.
No, not in any way — no tense change, no plural, no derived form. If the sentence seems to need a different form of it, you have the wrong structure and should look for another way to express the same meaning.
