BECOMING A TEACHER Most people remember at least one ¹TEACH who changed their lives. The desire to do the same for the next generation is what leads many people into the ²PROFESS. Although the work can be enormously rewarding, it is also surprisingly ³DEMAND. Teachers spend long hours planning lessons, marking homework and dealing with the ⁴BEHAVE problems that inevitably crop up in any classroom. To make matters more ⁵COMPLICATE, schools today face growing pressure to improve exam results. ⁶FORTUNATE, the rewards are very real. Few jobs offer the same satisfaction as watching a struggling student finally master a particularly ⁷CONFUSE idea. For those who survive the early years, teaching often becomes a ⁸LIFE passion.
